History of the LIMOGES Lyceum Club
In 1992, Monique Bernardaud, a member of the « Lyceum-club of Paris » incited Edith de Lhermite to create the international Région Limousin Lyceum Club, the 8th club of the French Federation. At the beginning, 29 members agreeded to participate in this creation : seven of them are still members.
Our club has known some great moments since this creation : two national General Assemblies, in 1997 and 2010 and also the International Central Comitee, in 2002, just before the « Rencontres Culturelles », in Paris.
The Club maintains strong friendly relations with the Club of Rabat. Today 96 members belong to our club, which is very active, thanks to Constance Smedley’s « long life learning » precept : we have successfully celebrated our 25 year existence.
Transgenerational friendship is genuine and warm amongst members. Four former presidents have enriched this club, thanks to their own personality and bountiful energy.
Anne-Marie Dumas is the 6th President of the Limousin Lyceum Club, succeeding Edith de Lhermite, Monique Leboeuf, Annie Grenade, Laurence Bouillaguet, and Catherine Verspieren.

Die Geschichte des Lyceum Clubs von Bordeaux
Der Lyceum Club von Bordeaux wurde von Maître Jacqueline Tonnet-Imbert, Rechtsanwältin bei der Anwaltskammer von Bordeaux im Jahre 1959 gegründet.
Als zweiter Club in Frankreich gleich nach Paris gegründet, zeigte er sein Interesse für internationale Kontakte. Sein Ziel ist es, die Beziehungen zwischen befreundeten Nationen durch die Annahme von ausländischen Frauen enger zu gestalten.
Eine immer noch lebhafte Partnerschaft wurde mit dem Club von Neuchâtel im Jahre 1993 gegründet.
Während dieser fünfzig bestehenden Jahre befasst sich der Club von Bordeaux, einen herzlichen Geist zwischen seinen Mitgliedern zu entwickeln, und zwar durch ein reichhaltiges Kulturprogramm sowie durch eine Hervorhebung von unserem Kulturerbe in den folgenden Bereichen : Literatur, Architektur, Musik und Wirtschaft.
Sie freuen sich alle, je nach ihren Begabungen, an dem Leben des Clubs teilzunehmen.
Sie sind anwesend bei den jährlichen Versammlungen von dem Französischen Verband sowie bei den Internationalen Kulturtagen, die in verschiedenen Ländern stattfinden.
History of the Bordeaux Lyceum Club
The Bordeaux Lyceum Club was founded in 1959 by Ms Jacqueline Tonnet-Imbert, barrister-at-law. As the second club founded in France after Paris, Bordeaux showed a special interest towards international awareness ; its aim was “to tighten the bonds between fellow nations by welcoming foreign ladies.”
We have been actively twinned with the Neuchatel Club since 1993.
Throughout its 60 years of existence, the Bordeaux Club has tried to develop a spirit of friendship between members, by means of cultural activities and the promotion of our literary, architectural, musical and economic heritage. With 44 members able to attend the A.G.M.s of the French Federation, they are all happy, each with their own particular talent, to participate in the life of their Club.
The members can attent to the International Cultural Days organized in different countries and to the AILC triennial congress.
DER LYCEUM-CLUB VON GRENOBLE GESCHICHTE
Die Idee, einen Lyceum-Club in Grenoble zu gründen, stammt aus der Freunschaft zwischen Yvonne de MAUREX vom Genfer Lyceum-Club und Clotilde MUNCH, einer Geigenehrerin.
Isabelle de GUILBERT, eine nahe Bekannte von Clotilde MUNCH, wagt dieses Abenteuer.
Herbst 1996 : um diese Vereinigung besser zu kennen, von der sie nie gehört hatte, wohnt Isabelle de GUILBERT der Generalversammlung der Französischen Föderation des L.C.I. in Fontainebleau bei.
Ihr Treffen mit Jacqueline SUTTIN, der zu dieser Zeit nationalen Präsidentin, und den Mitgliedern der anderen Clubs, überzeugt sie schliesslich dazu.
Anfang 1997 : der erste Verwaltungsrat trifft sich bei der Präsidentin, Isabelle de GUILBERT, und beschliesst dann :
- Einen Leifaden für seine Aktion zu finden : es wird « Die Förderung junger Künstlerinnen
- Die Gastlichkeit und die Vielfalt zu bevorzuge
- Mit der Anpassung des Programms die berufstätigen Frauen zur Teilnahme am Club zu bewegen
- Den internationalen Charakter des Clubs hervorzuheben, indem er 1 oder 2 Treffen pro Jahr mit einem anderen Club organisier
Der Club besteht heute seit 24 Jahren, und und wurde von 6 Präsidentinnen nacheinander geführt.
Seine Schwerpunkte sind : die Kultur, die künstlerische Tätigkeit und die Austausche ; der Club hat über 50 Mitglieder.
History of the GRENOBLE Lyceum Club
The idea of creating a Lyceum Club in Grenoble was born of the friendship between Yvonne de Maurex, member of the Lyceum Club in Geneva, and Clothilde Munch, a violin teacher from Grenoble.
Isabelle Guilbert, another friend of Clothilde Munch, agreed to join the venture.
Autumn 1996 : Never having previously heard of this Association, Isabelle attended the Annual General Congress of the French Federation of the LCI at Fontainebleau.
Her meeting with Jacqueline Suttin, the then National President, and the Lyceum Club members representing other clubs, was convincing.
Early 1997 : The first Administrative Council was held at the home of Isabelle Guilbert, and it decided to :
- Find a guideline for its activities. The choice was " Promoting Young Artists".
- Favor conviviality and diversity.
- Encourage working women to integrate the club by ajusting its programme.
- Emphasize the international character of the club by organising one or two annual meetings a year with another club.
The Club is now 24 years old and has had 6 successive Presidents.
It is particularly orientated towards culture, artistic action and meetings, and has over fifty members.

Présentation Lyceum Club de Vannes Bretagne-Sud
Le dernier né des clubs français est encore tout jeune puisque il a vu le jour le 29 Juillet 2020 lors d’une assemblée constitutive chez sa fondatrice, Anne-Marie d’Haucourt membre du Lyceum Club de Bretagne Nord depuis 2008 et Rédactrice du Bulletin International entre 2010 et 2019.
Notre club se distingue de deux façons, tout d’abord la grande variété d’ages de ses membres, la plus jeune à 32 ans, et certaines sont toujours en activité , et d’autre part le fait que certaines lycéennes ne sont dans la région que pendant les périodes de vacances, ce qui nous permet d’avoir des activités tout au long de l’année. Nous sommes actuellement vingt-deux réparties géographiquement entre Lorient et La Baule.
The latest French Lyceum Club is still very young as it was created on July 29th 2020 day of the Constitutive Assembly at its founder’s, Anne-Marie d’Haucourt, a member of the Lyceum Club of Northern Brittany since 2008 and The Editor of the International Bulletin from 2010 to 2019. The two main charactetistics of our club is the age range, the yougest one is 32, a few members are still working, besides being on the coast, some women only come here during the holidays so our activities take place all the year long .
We are twenty-two members living between Lorient and La Baule.
